“Digital Nation”
May 10th, 2010 by BenToday I was watching Digital Nation, a documentary about how the world is becoming more and more “tronic” based. At one point in time the narrator said something about “How many screens are looking back at you?”. This made me think. Right now I have the Wii streaming the documentary to me. I am writing this on my computer, I have my iPod out downloading a song, and my phone out texting someone. Maybe I should tweet this?
How much technology is too much? When do we become over connected? I think our generation, the millennials need to take a step back, and look at what we are doing. With Twitter, you can post status updates that tell people exactly where you are, Facebook has been used for break ins, and sites like Flickr and Photobucket allow us to post as many pictures as possible. When do we become too connected with the web?
When I am at school, I see students spend more time troubleshooting ways to by pass internet filters than they do spend on the actual assignment at hand. If they spent 1/2 that time on the actual projects, we would have a school of genius. But instead, we have a bunch of pro “bloons tower defense 4″ players.
Sorry, I got distracted, I am almost to level 8. I’ll get back to you later.
